If you triggering point is item deleted, it does trigger MS flow (just tried this) but it won't anything for status as you trigger is when item is deleted. I suppose a power app could update list 1, which could trigger a flow using a sharepoint modify trigger that then updates list 2. This flow would connect to list 2 as configured in the flow connection, not the current user, but this is getting into rube goldberg territory.
