You answered … WebSep 13, 2024 · A spinning fan indicates that #1 & #2 are working. SYS_FAN3 indicates that #3 is working from the fan. In a 3-wire setup #2 is modulated to control the fan speed and the fan just runs as fast as it can. Now a 4-wire fan should require the PWM control signal to spin, so plugging a 4-wire fan into a 3-wire header might not work.
